Scope and Contents The J. Peter Adler Comic Book Collection includes 264-volumes of popular comic books from the 1980's and 1990's.  The collection was a gift of former West Chester University (WCU)  president, Dr. Madeline Wing Adler, in memory of her son J. Peter Adler who was killed in a car accident in Texas in 1995.

Scope and Contents Folders 28-36 Arrangement: Chronological This subseries contains materials concerning Wally Berger after his professional career but still relating to baseball from 1960’s-1980’s. It includes an article written by Berger to the Los Angeles Times.

Scope and Contents Folders 10.1-10.11; 11.1-11.7; 12.1-12.11; 13.1-13.5 Contains journals, bulletins, articles, and newsletters from various botanical, ornithological, and natural history institutions. Folder 10.1 contains Life magazine profile of Allegany School of Natural History. Folder 10.9 contains a reprint of Gregor Mendel's Versuche ober Pflanzenhybriden (1913) with many handwritten annotations.

Scope and Contents Folders 14.1-14.19; 15.1-15.12; 16.1-16-12; 17.1-17.9; 18.1-18.5; 19.1-19.3 Contains photographs of varying sizes taken by Gordon or friends. Photos are primarily of natural landmarks, flora, wildlife, people, and buildings. Scrapbooks related to Boy Scouts and Allegany School of Natural History are in this series. Also includes images of maps, charts, and presentations.
